The beginning of preschool

  In 1906 Dr. Montessori introduced to the world the AMI or Montessori International children's education system in 1944 was fully entrusted to the Catholic sect of the Sisters of the Good Shepherd to spread throughout Sri Lanka. In the last 73 years, the Good Shepherd Sisters quietly took the initiative to study Sri Lankan education and produced thousands of teachers who studied Sri Lankan education. By following that method. In the year 1935, Mrs. Dr. Montessori founded the AMI headquarters in Amsterdam, Netherlands, the headquarters of the Montessori International Association, and the only Sri Lankan pre-school education course and institution affiliated to the AMI headquarters in Sri Lanka is the Good Shepherd Maria Montessori Training Center.

The father of free education

 A great leader who was nicknamed the Father of Education, he was born on 13 October 1884 in the village of Randombe, located between Ambalangoda and Balapitiya in the Southern Province. His original name was Dr. Christopher William Wijayakoon. His father was Mr. John Daniel Wijayakoon and his mother was Mrs. Emily Wijesinghe. He received his primary education from the Randombe Wesleyan Missionary School. Later, he was given the opportunity to join Richmond College, Galle. He was the first Minister of Education appointed during the British rule in Sri Lanka. His life, which started with a small stream, ended as a great river quenching the thirst of everyone. Thuparamaya

  The Thuparama in Anuradhapura is the first historical stupa built in Sri Lanka. It was built by King Devanampiyatissa on the instructions of the Arahant Devanampiyatissa to enshrine the right hand relic of the Buddha. Originally shaped like a grain, it was later transformed into a bell-shaped structure during renovations. It has a circular dome. Location : One of the eight shrines in Anuradhapura Builder : King Devanampiyatissa Speciality : Considered the first stupa and circular dome in Sri Lanka. Relic : The right hand relic of the Buddha. Shape : Although the original shape was shaped like a grain, it is now seen in a bell-shaped shape after renovations in the 19th century. Monastery : The Thuparama is not just a pagoda, but a monastery complex where monks lived. Thuparamaya is a very sacred place built after the establishment of Buddhism in Sri Lanka, and has been renovated by various kings throughout history.

Traditional Farming and Culture

  The old Sinhala proverb " When the mud is washed away, the farmer is fit for kingship " clearly shows the value of agriculture that has existed since ancient times. Accordingly, it is clear how highly the farmer and farming were regarded in the past. Ruwanweli Maha Seya

 Ruwanweli Maha Seya is a physical stupa located in Sri Lanka. It is the main stupa of the ancient Maha Viharaya. It is also the main stupa of the current Atamasthana. Ruwanweli Maha Seya is one of the sixteenth and eighth temples.  The first stupa built by King Dutugemunu was Ruwanweli Maha Seya. Relics are enshrined here. Due to the death of King Dutugemunu before the work was completed, King Saddhatissa completed the remaining work. This is a stupa that has become extremely sacred among Buddhists around the world.
