Thuparamaya
The Thuparama in Anuradhapura is the first historical stupa built in Sri Lanka. It was built by King Devanampiyatissa on the instructions of the Arahant Devanampiyatissa to enshrine the right hand relic of the Buddha. Originally shaped like a grain, it was later transformed into a bell-shaped structure during renovations. It has a circular dome.

Thuparamaya is a very sacred place built after the establishment of Buddhism in Sri Lanka, and has been renovated by various kings throughout history.
